Celeb memoirs are a dime a dozen these days, but supermodel-turned-TV actress Tyra Banks is joining a somewhat extraordinary organization: celebs who have turn into writers.

Banks, 36, has recently finalised a three-book deal with Random House. The chain of novels, called “Modelland,” will be aimed at young adults. The series will present models having special powers, while Banks has said several characters might be centered on persons she knows.

Although it is extraordinary for celebs to pen works of fiction, it is far from unheard of. One little-known superstar novelist is Bill O’Reilly — that’s right, the gentleman from Fox News — who in 1998 wrote a murder story known as “Those Who Trespass.” Another is musician Jimmy Buffett, who in 2004 published an American westerner titled, “A Salty Piece of Land.”
